This course is for you who like to have a relaxing time outdoors doing different kinds of activities; enjoying the Finnish summer whilst discussing a variety of issues in English.
Using various activities, we will explore the local area around Orivesi in our own cars, going for walks and small, easy adventures, sometimes even preparing our own lunches over an open fire.
Some of the themes of the week will include socialising, customer service, problem solving and task planning as well as topical issues such as news events, sustainable development and the Finnish environment. We will also include themes that the group wishes to take up.  James is an adult and folk-high school teacher and wilderness guide based in the archipelago of south western Finland.

This is a discussion-based course with emphasis on oral skills at an intermediate to upper-intermediate level. Topics included negotiations, conferences, travel, hosting foreign visitors, telephoning, and grammar points (conditional, verb tenses). Activities included group discussion, pair work, and small group activities.

This advanced course is for you if you want to improve your English skills for work, social and travel situations and become a more independent and pro-active learner.
We will practice speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, together with grammar and pronunciation to develop fluency and confidence in practical communication.
There will be plenty of opportunities to participate in conversations and discussions on a challenging range of topics and situations.
We will also practise language for specific situations (e.g. meetings, negotiations, presentations, e-mails) as well as idiomatic expressions.
To make the practice as real and interesting as possible, the syllabus will be designed according to your wishes and interests with the help of a pre-course questionnaire, which will be sent to you after you have enrolled.
